Lonely Road of Faith

Thank you to author Merideth Deeds and Silver Dagger Book Tours for the gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Synopsis

Anna Lynn finds herself barefoot and pregnant when she is forced to move back to her hometown of Sulfer Springs. While all hope seems lost, she begins to rebuild her life and her faith as she perseveres through many trials and tribulations that life throws at her.

On one fateful December night, Anna runs into Billy Denham, an old flame, who had stolen a piece of her innocent heart as a young teenager. Unaware of the demons that he faces, she allows him into her and baby Johnny’s life. Anna, nor Billy, have any idea what is in store for them after their paths cross yet again.

Review

Merideth Deeds is a new to me author and I am glad that I was introduced to her. I loved the story line that Merideth created and I really enjoyed the characters she created. For me, faith plays a large part in my life and my Granny was a huge part of my life. I connected with Anna Lynn’s character right off the bat, as these are things that are very important to her as well, and enjoyed her story of loss and trying to rebuild. I definitely identified with Anna Lynn and really liked learning about her life. I don’t want to give too much away (no spoilers here), but I thought the story line of Anna Lynn and Billy’s relationship, both when they were younger and when their paths cross again, was such a real story that people experience everyday. It was refreshing to read a story that was not tied up in a nice neat bow in the end. I really enjoyed this book and hope to read more books by Merideth Deeds in the future.

Review

I was really excited to read this book after I found out it was a psychological thriller. The synopsis sounded good and this was a never before read author, so I thought I would take a chance on the book. While this book was a good read, it was not the psychological thriller I thought it would be. For me, the storyline was good, but I was not hanging on every word trying to figure out what would happen next. I did not feel uncomfortable when I read it, nor did I check my door locks to make sure I was safe (yes, I sometimes do this if the psychological suspense is that good!). The storyline was good, I just felt like the story was predictable and there was not enough psychological suspense for me. Once the first three murders happened, I felt like I could guess the rest of the book. I am sad that this did not turn out to be the book I thought it would be, however, I am glad that I discovered a new author, Ditter Kellen. While this book did not do it for me, I still am excited to read some of her other books! Even though I did not like the way the book was written, I still encourage you to pick up the book. Everyone reads books differently, and maybe this was not the book for me, but it could be the book for you!!!

Review

I have been waiting for this book ever since I read the first book…I am not sure what I was expecting, but this was not it. Don’t get me wrong, I still really enjoyed this book, however, but it was not the story line I was expecting. I can’t pinpoint why, but this book left me unsettled. I love Lorrain Allen‘s writing. I love that she writes dark romance. I love the characters that she has created. In this book we saw a different side of Art, one that I think no one expected to see. We saw things that we never, ever though Art would do. We also saw a different side of Cin…one that made me like her even more than I did in the first book. While this story line was not what I expected, it is one that I overall liked. The only think that I did not like about the book was the ending and I think that is what made me unsettled. I feel like things wrapped up to quickly and with a nice pretty bow. I wish there would have been more detail and more darkness than there was. Overall, Lorrain Allen is an author that I am so, so glad that I found. This and the first book in the series was my first taste of Lorrain’s writing, and I will be sure to pick up all of her other books!

About the Author

Lorrain has enjoyed writing ever since she was a child and was also part of the poetry club in middle school. She loves to get away from the world and lose herself in a book. As a young adult, she became a romance book junky and was inspired to pen her first romance by the many creative authors whose books she’s read. She wants to provide her fans with a suspenseful read that has a twist at the end. The subject matters of her books are a little controversial, but life is boring without a little controversy.

LazLo’s Dream Machines: Motorcycle Romance Collection

Thank you to author Tracey Cramer-Kelly and Silver Dagger Book Tours for the gifted copy of these books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Synopsis

Working at LazLo’s custom motorcycle shop is more than just a job…

Welcome to LazLo’s Dream Machines, where the motorcycles are hot—and the men are even hotter! They’re not looking for love, but as things heat up (in more ways than one!), you never know what’ll happen…

Book 1: Mercury Falling

The biker club Kerry “Mercury” Dawson joined as a teen may have lived life on the dangerous side, but they were the first “family” Kerry ever had. Even with his new job at LazLo’s Dream Machines, the club is still a big part of his life—until the day he crashes a motorcycle he wasn’t supposed to be riding, and wakes up in Lucy’s emergency room.

Book 2: What Happens in Sturgis

The fact that Vince avoids kissing has never stopped him from getting what he wants from women. But now he’s shared a little too much with his new co-worker, Tori—and she’s made it her personal mission to change his opinion. Falling for each other is NOT in the plan. After all, what happens in Sturgis, stays in Sturgis. Or does it?

Book 3: CrossOver

Vaughn’s not thrilled when his boss asks him to work on a motocross bike. But what the bike’s owner, Gabby, lacks in height, she makes up for with her fierce competitive spirit—and mind-blowing kisses. Not everyone wants to see her succeed on the track, though, and Vaughn’s repair skills keep falling short. Is Gabby just not cut out for the big time, or is someone determined to get her off the race track permanently?

Book 4: Rumble

Shop owner Lazarus “Laz” Lowenstein keeps his past carefully concealed, and for good reason. When a friend calls in a favor, he finds himself perilously close to the life he left behind—and to fledgling reporter, Nora Carlton. Helping Nora research a story is one thing; exploring his desire for the sheltered single mom is a definite no-no. Can Nora restore his faith in people… and love?

Review

Y’all, this was such a fun series of novellas. At a total length of 162 pages, this was a quick read that I really enjoyed. Each story had a different synopsis that was real and plausible. The motorcycle men were all likable (and quite handsome from the way they were described) and the women were all completely different from them…think the complete opposite. I thought the stories were cute, however was a little put off that the characters met and within a week they were in love. It just seemed really, really, quick to me, especially with some of the men’s histories. Other than that, I loved reading these books. Tracey Cramer-Kelly’s writing flows so easily and creates a great story. I am definitely going to pick up some of her other books!!!

About the Author

Many experiences influence Tracey’s writing, and she has been known to undertake unusual endeavors (such as firefighter training and learning to fly a helicopter) just for the sake of the experience. Being an Army-trained combat medic and a “biker chick” for over 30 years has had significant influence in her books, but even “ordinary” events have struck a chord or inspired a character or plot idea.

In 2018 Tracey returned to school to recertify as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and currently works at various sporting and music events when she’s not processing orders for the family business (Leader Motorcycle) or working at a substance abuse counseling center.

Tracey lives in small-town Minnesota with her husband, two kids, and two cats. They are a true “soccer family” (she even worked as a referee for two years). She enjoys downhill skiing and spending time at the family lake place. She has also owned and operated an MC business, Leader Motorcycle, for 17 years http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/

Review

Stacy Eaton is a new to me author and I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to read one of her books as part of this tour!! Stacy Eaton is a wonderful writer who describes the characters in such a way, that you can picture them in your mind’s eye in perfect detail and also feel like they are a real part of your life. This book was definitely not what I expected…and in a really, really good way!!! This book was full of twists and turns in the story that I never saw coming, which made this book all the more enjoyable to read. This book was not some generic romance novel with the same old characters and the same old plot. This book is filled with real life scenarios that the reader can relate to and experience right alongside the characters. This book was real and raw and I was so captured by the story that I read the book in one day! I am so pleased by the experience that I had with Stacy Eaton’s writing, that I will for sure be reading the rest of this series as well as be picking up other books by this author.

A New Place, Another Murder

Follow the tour HERE for special content and a giveaway!

Book Tour Hosted by Silver Dagger Book Tours

Thank you to Silver Dagger Tours and Christa Nardi for the gifted copy of A New Place, Another Murder. This book was provided to me for an honest review and all opinions are my own.

Synopsis

Meet Sheridan. She has pretty much every thing she has every wish for. She has recently settled into her new home in Appomattox with her husband Brett and his daughter, but longs for something to help keep her busy. That is, until Maddie, her stepdaughter, and her friend are framed for theft and murder. While this is not quite the distraction she had in mind, Sheridan will do anything she can to prove their innocence. Will the truth come out before the person calling the shots takes Sheridan and Maddie out of the picture?

Review

I was really looking forward to reading this book, as I love a good mystery as much as the next person; however, this book just didn’t live up to my expectations. While the synopsis and the over all story were good, I felt like the build up of this story was really slow for my tastes. It took a long time to learn all the information related to the murder, and for me, the way the information was presented was a bit on the confusing side. I did love the characters that were created and I enjoyed the relationships between the characters.

The one thing that bothered me just a little, was that I had never picked up a Christa Nardi book before, and it without a little back history on the characters, some of the information presented in this book was confusing to me. It took me a long time to figure out how all the characters and their backgrounds fit together. I would have wished for just a bit more information on Brett, his daughter, and their relationship with Sheridan as well as a little background on why she had left her previous teaching position. Although this book is the start of a new series, and you should be able to start a series without reading the author’s previous books, I felt that I should have read the author’s Cold Creek Series books first.
